Christmas time again?

In Mid-October I always get a little x-mas nostalgic. It’s getting pretty cold and that just makes me want to jump around in the snow and sing x-mas carols. Unfortunately there isn’t any snow in Reykjavík these days, only in the bloody North, yuck---I curse those lucky Northerners! Although the weathermen keep saying that it’s going to snow everywhere in Iceland this week, I have started wondering about taking desperate measures to make my surroundings look more like December. I have been contemplating about buying loads of flour or baking soda and sprinkle around the garden, but I am afraid that the neighbours wouldn’t be impressed. It’s also a bit messy. Then there’s the idea of just unpacking my x-mas ornaments, decorating the house and listening to Frosty the bastard on repeat…hmmm, nope, sounds too much like “girl needs therapy”. After thinking about it I have reached the conclusion that the best way to indulge myself in a premature x-mas craze is to (drum roll please) prepare an English fruitcake. It’s all very Christmassy and festive. If my memory isn't failing, I think that it just takes a bunch of old fruits and loads of booze. So here's my idea; put various fruits in a bowl and put it outside on the lawn. The birds are getting hungry at this time of year and this will attract them to your garden. Then you can sit by the window while sipping the booze and watch the little cuties eat the fruits. This way, everyone's happy; the birdies get a nice meal and you get to be drunk. English x-mas fruitcakes are disgusting anyway. If you need to soak your pastries in liquor in order to make them edible, then may I suggest you stop making them. Go Betty Crocker, go go go!
Peace

Library struggles

Good day y'all
I should be writing my dissertation, but have decided to take care of business first. I just bought myself a new laptop. It's name is MSI and it's big and powerful, yee-hah. On the top of my laptop big letters say Notebook, so I decided that the first thing I would do with my new computer would be to watch a movie called...The Notebook. Big mistake, huge mistake... It was a heartwarming lovestory and all, but boy oh boy, super depressing as well. I cried sooo much. Don't remeber crying this much over a movie since I saw Titanic. If any of you suffer from asthma or something like that I would recommend avoiding this film, I know I almost suffocated from tears and other, so AVOID!
I am actually at the national library now, being watched by people who covet my computer. I am "working" on one of the public computers here since I am an utter nerd, who doesn't know how to activate the fancy internet thingy on my new laptop... OOOOh wait, that means that I am not a nerd. The nerds are the ones who know all the stuff about computers and they are all called Dexter and Eugene or something like that... HA HA.
Anyway, the people without computers are staring at me, transmitting evil thoughts my way... I think I'll play a little pac-man now...
Au-revoir y'all
